???????? question here; um i presume obviously its the flow of hot air down a tempreture gradiant that drives the turbines yes? and that the glass at the base traps air to heat it at the ground radiation tempreture, ect ect... it all seems good, BUT, if someone could tell me, where does new air enter the system without the currently heated air being released???

This is probably my favorite energy idea but wtf is with the trains/elevator things that take people to the top really doesn't that kind of make it less effective i mean it would increase cost and use energy

not sure if this is what ur asking, but the "new" air enters at the ends of the solar panels. the air flows up the tower not down.

I was wondering about this too. i believe during day air flows up out the tower, then at night the gradient is reversed as air below has a much lower pressure, and so air above flows from higher pressure to low. I'm not positive about this though

Honestly 200 megawatts isn't that much. You would have a much better system if it where made of sterling engines or steam turbines. If your systems produces more, which I believe should be about 1.5 gigawatts, then I must say you have created a smart idea. Oh and I predict the wind speed to be about 70 miles per hour. of course these are all guesses.

There are many other options that are viable. the only problem is that they have all been surprised. The technology to power the world for very little money exists, only problem is that it will hurt the biggest and most powerful industry in the world: oil.

if an economic and ecologic solution exist we use it since ancent time
in italian language we named dietrologia, science of cospiration (dietro = back)
oil lobbies are power but they cannot stop the phisical rules, if a solution exist we will find it but it is hard to find

Extremely impractical and far too huge for so little power. The system is basicly a hot air engine with a very low temperature differential. This means a horribly inefficient carnot cycle. It is much better to concentrate the sunlight with mirrors to drive sterling engines.

sorry but u r wrong duck. the technology is readily available and all necessary materials are abundant. but like cardy said the oil industry has a stranglehold on our advancements because of their strong political influence. any energy that can't be taxed and horded to themselves is a threat to their power and they will not allow it so they spend their money buying new technologies and keeping the good patents to themselves. educate yourself duck.
