Many of Europe's 10 to 12 million Roma, or Gypsy, communities live in central or eastern Europe on the margins of society.
For them, Europe's 'untouchables', poverty, persecution and discrimination are part of daily life. A summit in Strasbourg is trying to address this issue and examine the Roma plight. Since 1999 the Roma population in Kosovo has fallen sharply after ongoing attacks. Al Jazeera's Barnaby Philips

WOULDNT YOU BE BEGGING TOO? do you think they are doing this for fun? i have a friend who is from the roma and you know what? SHE'S SAVVY IN EVERY WAY.
Yes.. I am that guy, I have been in the States since the age of 2. I have had hard times, and I NEVER begged! Those people werent really homeless.. I didn't want to be rude,but they ALWAYS beg, and ask for money.. In PERFECT ENGLISH! They aren't new here!
every nation and society has good and bad apples. and mind you not everyone who beggs is roma, i see white black and asian people begging. nothing to do with race.
its one thing being new in a foreing country but begging while you know enough of the native language is never pardonable. i totally disagree, but i do have some sympathy with the one who are new, i understand thier phlight.
In Pakistan Afghan families had to give thier daughters, sons to other families cause they simply can't afford them. Women are forced to sell themselves It's the same in Iraq, look at Syrian night clubs, all filled with rich Saudi's, Jordanians, Kuwaitis buying young Iraqi girls who's parents die

LOL it's good you agree that begging when not injured/hurt/poor is un-acceptable but come on man... I guarentee you that,that dark,dark,dark Indian/African with NO LANGUAGE SKILLS of that EU country will integrate sooner or later maybe not him,but his sons/daughters will... Maybe not 10 years,or

Pointing your finger at someone else regarding the Jewish struggle is hilarious... have you forgotten what happened to the Jews in Germany? If you've actually seen Al-Jazeera's channels, you'll see they also cover oppressed minorities in the Middle East, such as Kurds, Christians and South Asians
in the Gulf states.
