Define "people". If by people you mean pathetic wastes of carbon that are too stupid to understand the reality of these things, then sure, lot's of "people" do. People need to stop with all the whining and fix the disease, not the symptom. The disease is poor education and a lack of focus on logic and development of the mind, cure that and you cure all these pesky symptoms.

As an after-thought on the topic at hand: Printing such photos in the first place shows a gross lack of journalistic integrity. Most magazines are just mindless fluff anyway, stop putting so much emphasis on them. To quote Jabba the Hutt "You weak minded fool!" - Yes, I went there with the Star Wars reference.

I think everyone is too obsessed about beauty. I made a film called "Beauty: In the Eyes of the Beheld" where I interviewed "beautiful" women and asked them what it is REALLY like to be "beautiful." After hearing their life stories, I realized that the ones who relied the LEAST on their beauty were happiest. The ones who relied on it the MOST ended up being lonely, lost, and insecure. Being beautiful is nice, but it's not everything it's cracked up to be.

Re-touching should be banned. Unless its to change colors, etc,,not the body. One day we will all realize what this fake image is doing to our kids.

On the other hand, if magazines were forced to show the original picture beside the photoshopped image, people would see how much these models are being changed and maybe the culture with photoshopping might change with it.

I wouldn't say I agree with photoshopping already beautiful women. But in a world where obesity reins, setting higher standards could actually help the problem. Setting high standards with EDUCATION...EDUCATION...EDUCATION would help to rid the world of both problems, obesity and anorexia! If magazines endorsed eating healthy and exercising, instead of FAB diets (where only the inventor of the diet privileges), then the world would greatly benefit.

I'd hope so. I'm in college and only work during the summers. I do overview the dorms though and I get free rooming, but that's it.
