i agree in many ways with you but i think he meant that the crusades also happened because of the mistreatment of the christians in the holy land and the slaughter of every christian into jerusalem. im not justifying it either, but sadly i see many people using the crusades as an argument point in modern life, while the umayyad invasions, and the colonisation of spain are long forgotten.
