The trailer is certainly full of very talented actors and good looking special effects. It all depends on the writers. Is the story worthwhile? Can it bring what made Star Trek special - both depth and excitment? That is the question.

chris- Did the trailer look good? Like most movies these days, the trailer will be the only thing worth watching. I think this movie already smells like a dud. Sorry. It's like the Beatles trying to sell us just ONE MORE CD containing the SAME EXACT THING we already have. Just different packaging. Somewhere, Hollywood forgot how to take chances. Damn just got goose bumps. I am happy, this might actually give the life that trek needed after these long years. The golden age of Trek (TNG,DS9) does not need to be over. With a little help we can have some of those good times back. I hope this movie helps that.

Its just a directors vision of what the future is like... you know :-) And as for it being startrek.. Well if technology and filming evolve, and audiences evolve.. Why shouldn't the idea of startrek evolve.. I'd say the kirk "cowboy" thing is gonna go too far. But sure I used to be a cocaine fiend womanizing madman when I was a younger man. So I suppose he was probably on all manner of intergalactic mega shit... You know.. its only a film.. you know :-)
