Yet another version of Classical Gas by Tommy. Found this on the internet recently. I'm guessing it was filmed early-mid 2002 at Sierra Nevada, Centre Stage.
Great version this, inluding segments of "Walk Don't Run" by The Ventures and "Saturday Night's Alright (For Fighting)" by Elton John. Enjoy the master at work!

Slash sometimes uses neck bends and he is a good example of a worst case scenario. When doing a neck bend, his guitar's neck actually snapped, propelling the headstock into his face and stabbing a hole in his lip. Sounds cool but use with caution. :)

No, most necks don't have a steel rod in them. Messes with the sound. Most are solid hardwood. I know for a fact all Les's, at least the ones made by Gibson, are solid hardwood, no rod.

He plays the 12th fret harmonics and the bends the guitar neck out to bend the sound down. To bend it up you push out. I don't bend much on my guitar but I still get the bend

Thats kinda his thing though couchsloth. He tries to entertain as well as show his crazy skill. He could be sittin still the whole time, but if I could do that I would be jumpin around too. Besides, who really gives a damn. I can't watch this and then say somethin negative. Its too badass!

He is truly one of the most incredible guitarists I have ever seen and his enthusiasm is contagious. I have a friend from Australia who told me about Tommy and his brother Phil so I Googled them. You think he's good on acoustic you ought to see him on electric.
