What I said was true. Too bad if you aren't intelligent enough to find it for yourself. Their latest album debuted at #5 on Billboard. But you are right. Album sales are not that great overall. However, they still play to packed arenas and tour as much as any band out there. Fact of the matter is this. Dio has been shit since Vivian left the band. Why else would he have so much hate towards him?

stratoblaster2 whatever you say or do nothing change the truth, def leppard is tooo far over dio now days, everybody knows dio was good with vivian, after vivian left the band dio sank and get stucked in his music, the fact that swift taylor invited them to play with her is becouse she know the talent DL has, It could been mentioned by other musican, could be metal musican, country or whatever, the point is very clear, sorry but there's no comparation between DL and dio, be realistic.

I beg to differ once again. Def Leppard are as talented of musicians as you will find. Def Leppard was part of the NWOBHM. Many of the 80's bands tried to emulate them but didn't have the talent to do so. That is why they are no longer with us and Def Leppard are still going strong after 30 plus years.

I'm a poser? LMAO. YOU are defending the biggest poser in the business, Dio. As far as talent goes you will have a hard time finding many bands that have as much musical talent as Def Leppard. And there is absolutely nothing with Motley Crue. Just because you don't like them doesn't mean they are not good. You have to remember Dio wanted a piece of the whole 80's metal gig too. For a while he did, until Vivian left. After that his career went in the shitter and has not recovered.

IMO selling out is going mainstream...pop if you will. I was soooooo sick of hearing pour some sugar on me that I'd turn off the radio. The sugar crap had no teeth like the old Leppard stuff. To me it was like mindless babble. I will agree with you about Dio was the best when Vivian was with him, but his music was just as hard and dark after Vivian left. Actually I think we have some common ground; Dio's music was the best in the 80's with Vivian...agreed but I still liked it and bought it later

There are two primary reasons for the change that occurred with DL. First was the death of Steve Clark. That guy meant more to the band than any member I think. Second was Mutt Lange's departure. The band have even admitted he was as important as any member of the band. With this being said I agree that their newer stuff is more poppy. However, I still believe they are as talented of musicians as you are likely to find. They just don't write hard stuff anymore for the most part. Take care
