Chrono Trigger - Magus solo vs. Lavos

In the game's plot, Magus tries to summon the planet devourer, Lavos, to destroy him. Unfortunately for Magus, Chrono and his merry band of heroes interrupt the summoning. It's not until much later, and with assistance, that Magus finally gets his chance to face Lavos... But, through the magic
of Game Genie codes, Magus takes Lavos one on one here. (For those that have asked--Magus is level 99, with the best possible equipment and a Gold Stud equipped. He's also been maxed out on all Tabs. I haven't used any GG codes to enhance his stats.) I'll upload the final battle later if there's
interest. Sorry for the weird ending--the zSNES movie recorder got out of sync.

Besides, if you want a good RPG on the PS1, just get FFVII or FFIX, Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, or even just get Tactics. All much better choices.

nuf (crap) said u mean.jk, but there u go all u can argument is that chronno trigger has a better storyline, and i still think chrono cross one is better, and the game isnt just as easy as those other games like FF etc, if you like it easy then its ur problem, but i like a game that lasts and is entretaining anyways man you give your opinion even if you are just confused =P

You can still find it on ebay fairly easily. Finding a PS1...that's a different story. Just make sure you have a PS2, or one of OLDER PS3's (the older PS3s are more compatible with older games than are the current PS3s).

The only solo party possible without the use of Game Genie or Pro Action Replay codes is Crono. Otherwise you have to use PAR codes. If you click on "Show All Comments", you'll see instructions about 10 comments down or so.

You can get him right after Crono is killed by Lavos. You have to go to the North Cape in 12,000 BC and he will be there.

Well, DS's specs really are better...SNES could only display 256 colors at a time, DS can display several hundred times that at once...I believe the resolution's better on the DS as well. Still, I was pretty happy to see they kept the DS version of Chrono Trigger more or less the same as the original.

You really ought to do a little more research before you insult somebody.
(1) Without PAR codes it is only possible to solo Lavos with Crono.
(2) If you'd bothered to check the video responses you'd see I did beat the 2nd form.

absolutely, when this game came out it was BEAUTIFUL for an snes game. while i'm a big fan of the final fantasy series, chrono trigger is still my favorite rpg and the game that has had the most influence on my life. i'm 26 now btw.

You're confusing "remakes" with "ports". Ports are basically identical, while remakes can take quite a few liberties.
Chrono Trigger DS was very nearly a port--other than a few additions here and there, and a new translation, it's the same. Final Fantasy IV DS, meanwhile, was definitely a remake--it looks MUCH different from the original.

late in the game u have the choice of either killing him, or sparing him, if u spare him, he joins your party. also note that u can only solo lavos with crono, but he used game genie codes to get magus by himself. magus has the highest natural magic defense, all lvl 2 spells, dark matter, black hole, and black mist. great attack mage, but he dousnt have any duel techs and i think only 1 triple tech, maybe 2.

the second form isent even that hard, just get all the side quest equipment and wail on the left lavos shell i think its called, then you can just pretty much kill the hell outa the core ^^
